Artist Job Centre – Activist Installation
Brief
In response to UK government remarks suggesting artists should retrain for other jobs, Stuart Semple envisioned a satirical installation. We were tasked with turning the concept into a full-scale “job centre” for artists.
Our Approach
We fabricated a period-accurate job centre complete with retro furniture, leaflets and water dispensers. The installation invited visitors to reflect on the value of art and the challenges facing creatives. Attention to detail – from signage to interior fittings – grounded the satire in reality.
Impact
The piece garnered media attention and sparked dialogue about the arts’ role in society. It demonstrates our ability to bring conceptual art to life with authenticity and humour.
